Comfortable Taxi To Offer First Class Services

PASIR PANJANG, SINGAPORE -- From next month onward, the public will be able to choose between First Class or Economy Class taxi services. Comfortable Taxi Limited has announced that it has completed retrofitting all its 10,000 taxis to provide this improved services.

Each of the renewed and improved taxi will have a wider and bigger leather covered front seat with massaging capability. A 14 inches TV screen is also installed on the armrest of this seat, providing the traveling passengers with up to 5 channels of undisrupted entertainment from the Boardcasting Corporation. This state-of-the-art TV screen can allow the passenger to access the Internet as well. In addition, mobile phone will also be provided should the passenger request for it. The First Class passenger will also received a welcome face towel the moment they board the taxi. And the additional charges on payment made via credit card will be waived for this group of passengers.

The back-seats of the taxi have also received a revamp to serve the Economy Class passengers better. Synthetic leathers are now used for the seat cover and the brochures pockets are enlarged to carry more brochures to entertain the passengers.

The taxi drivers have also received a special 2 days training to learn the art of first class services.

"We have also planned to launch a frequent-riding program for our most valued customers in the next few months," said Mr. J J Tan, marketing director of the company. "Each frequent-riding passenger will get a personalized membership card. And for every dollar they spent, they will receive 1 Comfy Point. They can then use the accumulated Comfy Point to redeem for special services, such as the taxi driver's smiling-from-the-bottom-of-my-heart-even-when-you-go-to-Tampines-from-the-airport or the I-have-small-change-for-your-fifty-dollars-note service."

However all such improved services do not come free. If a passenger chooses the First Class Service by boarding the front seat, he or she will have to pay 200% more than an economy class passenger who travels the same distance.

"We are not increasing our price, this is just a reflection of the requirement of the different customer segments. In fact, with the frequent-riding program, a First Class passenger will be paying less in the long run as compared to an Economy Class passenger not on the frequent-riding program," said Mr. J J Tan.

Other taxi operators are looking into this improved service from Comfortable Taxi Limited, and planning to launch their own version of First Class Service within the next few weeks.
