Why All The Troubles, National Pimples Foundation?

ORCHARD ROAD, SINGAPORE -- The National Pimples Foundation has successfully raised S$8millions over the 2 charity shows that it has staged over the last month for its acne patients. Grand prizes such as a house, a car and cash were used to entice the public to donate generously. However, members of the public are left wondering why does NPF have to go through such troubles, when they can just redirect the money spent on prizes for proper use.

The donation netted of the administration cost amounted to $7millions dollars. The prizes also worth a total $7 millions dollars. The breakdown of the prizes are as follow: the house is worth $7.2 millions, the car cost $90,000, cash prize of $88,000 and a slew of other prizes add up to about $500,000.

"I really don't know why they are going to this. Maybe to create jobs." commented Mr. Teo Mah Piaw, "Maybe they want to create some excitement in Singapore given the gloomy economy outlook too!".

"Not sure if there is any kelong! Maybe they arranged such that some special people are are meant to win the prizes. Luckily I do not have any pimples" said Ms. Pretty Cheong.

However, academia offered another explanation. "This could be due to the need to create positive public relation images of the NPF and as well as the prize sponsor. They could easily ask the sponsorors to donate cash to the foundation instead of the prize. But the impact and the hype will not be there. Who will know MiserCard sponsored the cash prize? This is all about marketing." explained Dr. Bernard Cheong, a professor at SMU.

Whatever that is, those who made a donation but did not win anything do not be upset, because you can be sure that NPF will return with an even bigger show with bigger prizes next year.
